§ 4-4-104. REDUCTION IN FORCE.

  • (a)

    Authority of the County Executive. After conferring with the appointing authorities concerned, the County Executive may abolish any jobs or employment in the classified service and lay off, demote, or transfer employees holding abolished jobs whenever, in the judgment of the County Executive, it becomes necessary:

    (1)

    In the interest of economy;

    (2)

    Due to unavailability of funds; or

    (3)

    Because the jobs no longer exist.

    (b)

    No right to appeal. An employee laid off, demoted, or transferred under this section has no right of appeal or hearing.

    (c)

    Notice. The County Executive or the County Executive's designee shall provide to all affected employees reasonable advance notice of an action contemplated under this section.
