§ 3-3-404. QUORUM; MEETINGS; COMPENSATION.

  • (a)

    Quorum.

    (1)

    (i)

    Three members of the Animal Hearing Board are a quorum.

    (ii)

    For the purpose of hearing a contested civil case brought under this subtitle or Article 12 of the Code, one member of the Board is a quorum.

    (2)

    A decision, resolution, or finding shall be construed as the act of the Board if passed by a majority of the quorum.

    (b)

    Hearings.

    (1)

    The Board shall hold hearings at least two times each month.

    (2)

    The chairman:

    (i)

    May call a special hearing at the chairman's discretion; and

    (ii)

    Shall ensure that each Board member is notified of a special hearing and given the opportunity to attend.

    (3)

    A hearing may be canceled with the consent of a simple majority of all Board members.

    (c)

    Compensation. A member of the Board:

    (1)

    May not receive compensation as a member of the Board; but

    (2)

    Is entitled to reimbursement for expenses necessarily incurred, if approved by the Board and provided for in the county operating budget.
