SubTitle 11. HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION |
§ 3-3-1104. QUORUM; MEETINGS; COMPENSATION; STAFF.
(a)
Quorum. Except as provided in Article 29, Title 3 of the Code:
(1)
Eight members of the Human Relations Commission is a quorum for the transaction of business at Commission meetings; and
(2)
A majority vote of the members present where a quorum exists is sufficient for an official action of the Commission.
(b)
Meetings. The Commission shall hold public meetings at regular intervals but not less frequently than nine meetings each year.
(c)
Compensation. A member of the Commission:
(1)
May not receive compensation as a member of the Commission; but
(2)
Is entitled to reimbursement for expenses necessarily incurred, if approved by the Commission and provided for in the county operating budget.
(d)
Staff.
(1)
(i)
The County Executive shall appoint an Executive Director, who may be from the staff of the County Executive or from the staff of another board or commission.
(ii)
The Executive Director:
1.
Shall attend all meetings and hearings of the Commission; and
2.
In addition to the duties specified in this subtitle and Article 29 of the Code, shall perform duties as prescribed by the Commission.
(2)
The County Executive may authorize other personnel to assist the commission in carrying out the provisions of this subtitle and Article 29 of the Code.
