§ 3-2-1405. ORGANIZATION OF THE DEPARTMENT.
(a)
In general.
(1)
The Department of Public Works consists of the Director of Public Works, the divisions and the bureaus which may be created under the general authority of this section, and the following county offices, which shall be considered bureaus of the Department of Public Works:
(i)
Roads Engineer;
(ii)
Chief Sanitary Engineer of the Metropolitan District; and
(iii)
Supervisor of Solid Waste Management.
(2)
With the concurrence of the County Administrative Officer, the Director of Public Works may either designate an employee of the Department as the Roads Engineer, Chief Sanitary Engineer of the Metropolitan District, or Supervisor of Solid Waste Management or retain any of these functions for the Director.
(b)
Bureaus. The Department of Public Works consists of:
(1)
The Bureau of Engineering and Construction;
(2)
The Bureau of Highways;
(3)
The Bureau of Building and Equipment Services;
(4)
The Bureau of Solid Waste Management;
(5)
The Bureau of Utilities; and
(6)
The Bureau of Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning.
(c)
Authority of the Director.
(1)
The Divisions or Bureaus of the Department of Public Works are subject to the control, supervision, and direction of the Director of Public Works.
(2)
The Director shall coordinate the functions and operations of the Department.
(3)
Preparation, approval, and signature of plats, drawings, deeds, or other documents by the Roads Engineer, Chief Sanitary Engineer, or other divisions or bureaus of the Department of Public Works, are subject to reassignment by the Director with the approval of the County Administrative Officer.
(4)
The Director of Public Works may transfer responsibility for the exercise of powers and the performance of duties of the Department from one bureau of the Department to another bureau of the Department.
