§ 21-16-106. CHIEF OF POLICE'S INVESTIGATION AND REPORT.

  • (a)

    Department to forward application . After the applicant has complied with the county zoning regulations, the Department shall forward the application for a license to the Chief of Police.

    (b)

    Investigation and inspection . The Chief of Police shall investigate and inspect the applicant to determine whether:

    (1)

    The applicant has facilities to provide towing services when requested on a 24-hour basis; and

    (2)

    The towing vehicles of the applicant are in good mechanical condition, equipped with necessary towing gear and safety apparatus, and are registered as commercial hauling vehicles with the State Motor Vehicle Administration.

    (c)

    Report . The Chief of Police shall promptly report the findings of the investigation and inspection to the Department.
