§ 21-15-310. TRANSFERABILITY.
(a)
Requirement to inform the Department. If the holder of a permit other than an annual plumbing or gasfitting permit does not want to do all the work allowed by the permit, the permit holder shall promptly inform the Department in writing.
(b)
Action of the Department. If a permit holder gives the notification authorized under subsection (a) of this section:
(1)
The permit originally issued shall be held in abeyance from the date of the notification;
(2)
The administrative authority shall inspect the job and record on the permit the work that has been completed; and
(3)
The original holder remains responsible for all the work until the Department approves another licensee to perform the work.
(c)
Transfer. If the work covered by a permit held in abeyance under this section is to be completed by another licensee:
(1)
The owner shall inform the Department of the licensee needed to finish the job;
(2)
The original permit may be:
(i)
Reactivated to the extent of the uncompleted work; and
(ii)
Transferred to the other licensee after the other licensee signs the original application on file at the Department; and
(3)
The new permit holder is responsible in all respects for the work that new permit holder does under the permit.
