§ 18-2-305. METERS AND RATES.

  • (a)

    Prohibitions. At any time when any revenue bonds or mortgages issued by the county Revenue Authority for the purpose of financing the construction, acquisition, and improvement of off-street parking facilities in the county are outstanding and unpaid, the county may not:

    (1)

    (i)

    Reduce the total number of on-street single-space parking meters installed on the streets of the county as of the date the bonds were issued; or

    (ii)

    Reduce the size of or eliminate a parking meter zone established as of the date the bonds were issued, if the county replaces single-space parking meters with multi-space parking meters; or

    (2)

    Reduce the rates charged for the use of parking meters as of the date the bonds were issued.

    (b)

    Authority. Notwithstanding subsection (a) of this section, the county may:

    (1)

    Increase the total number of on-street parking meters installed on the streets of the county;

    (2)

    Move on-street parking meters from location to location; and

    (3)

    Increase the rates charged for the use of on-street parking meters.
