§ 18-2-304. INSTALLATION, CONSTRUCTION, AND DESIGN OF METERS.
(a)
Installation - In general. The county Revenue Authority shall install single-space and multi-space parking meters in the parking meter zones and, as applicable, adjacent to parking meter spaces, as determined and designated in accordance with the applicable provisions of this subtitle.
(b)
Same - Single-space parking meters.
(1)
The Revenue Authority shall install single-space parking meters on the curb immediately adjacent to each designated parking meter space.
(2)
There shall be at least one multi-space parking meter installed on each street block in each parking meter zone where multi-space parking meters are installed.
(c)
Design and operation.
(1)
Each single-space parking meter shall be designed to display upon payment and activation:
(i)
A signal that indicates legal parking for the duration paid for;
(ii)
Continuously, the remaining time until the legal parking duration expires; and
(iii)
An appropriate signal when the legal parking duration has expired.
(2)
(i)
On payment and activation, each multi-space parking meter shall:
1.
Display the information specified in paragraph (1) of this subsection; or
2.
Produce and issue a receipt that displays:
A.
The amount of parking time purchased; and
B.
The date and time at which the paid parking will expire.
(ii)
The multi-space parking meter shall contain clear instructions on how and where the operator shall display the paid receipt on or in the parked vehicle.
(iii)
Failure to display the receipt in the manner specified as required under subparagraph (ii) of this paragraph subjects the vehicle to a parking violation as if the proper parking fee had not been paid.
(d)
Display . Each parking meter shall contain, in a conspicuous place, a plate or other device that:
(1)
Clearly states the days and hours in which the parking meter is in operation and any exceptions to those days and hours;
(2)
The amount and methods of payment for the legal parking of vehicles, including, at the discretion of the Revenue Authority, coins, bills, credit cards, debit cards, or other approved method of payment; and
(3)
The duration during which parking is allowed on payment of the prescribed amount.
