§ 14-3-102. ESTABLISHMENT OF FIRE LANE.

  • (a)

    Authority. To prevent parking in front of or adjacent to fire hydrants or to provide access for emergency vehicles, the Fire Chief may designate fire lanes on:

    (1)

    Public streets and on private property used for commercial, industrial, or multifamily housing; and

    (2)

    Other private property.

    (b)

    Signs. The Traffic Engineer may design, approve, and supervise the posting of all signs for the purpose of marking and designating fire lanes.

    (c)

    Penalty. A person who damages, defaces, tampers with, removes, destroys, or impairs the usefulness of a posted fire lane sign installed under this title is guilty of a misdemeanor.
