§ 14-3-103. OBSTRUCTION OF FIRE LANES.

  • (a)

    Prohibited. A person may not:

    (1)

    Occupy a fire lane or cause an object to occupy a fire lane in a manner that:

    (i)

    Obstructs or interferes with the operation of any emergency vehicle or equipment in a fire lane; or

    (ii)

    Obstructs access by emergency vehicle or equipment to any fire hydrant or Fire Department connection; or

    (2)

    Park a vehicle in a fire lane.

    (b)

    Penalty. A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fine of $43.

    (c)

    Impoundment. If necessary, the Police Department may take possession of, remove, tow away, impound, or otherwise remove any debris, material, vehicle, or other object that interferes with or obstructs a fire lane.
