§ 10-2-104. POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE PURCHASING AGENT.

  • (a)

    Duties in general. In addition to those functions and responsibilities of the Purchasing Agent enumerated in Article IX of the Charter, the Purchasing Agent shall carry out any additional purchasing responsibilities assigned to the Purchasing Agent by the County Administrative Officer.

    (b)

    Bulk buying. The Purchasing Agent shall require agencies to advise the Purchasing Agent in advance with regard to their requirements in order to secure quantity discounts by the grouping of requisitions and bulk buying whenever practical.

    (c)

    Bond. The Purchasing Agent shall give an employee dishonesty bond, approved by the County Attorney, to ensure the faithful performance and discharge of the Purchasing Agent's duties and for the proper application and payment of all money coming into the Purchasing Agent's hands by virtue of the Purchasing Agent's Office.
