§ 5-1-102. AUTHORITY TO ESTABLISH GENERAL SYSTEM OF ALLOWANCES AND PAYMENTS.

The county is authorized and empowered to establish and maintain, in connection with
its general system of pensions and retirements, a general system of allowances and
payments to be made to the beneficiaries and dependents of its officers, agents, servants,
and employees who may be members of the general pension and retirement system, after
the death of such officers, agents, servants, and employees, whether such death be
accidental or otherwise and whether or not it occurs in the actual performance of
duty or otherwise, with full power in the county to make such exceptions, exclusions,
limitations, and restrictions as to it may seem expedient and advisable.
