§ 3-1-203. SAME - COPIES OF BOOKS AND PAPERS.

(a)

"Record" defined.

(1)

In this section, "record" has the meaning stated in Title 8 of this article.

(2)

"Record" includes an automated mapping-geographic information system product or service.

(b)

Copying. Subject to Title 10, Subtitles 6 and 9 of the State Government Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland, an individual who requests and receives from the county government a record kept by an office or department of the county government shall pay in advance a fee established by the County Administrative Officer.

(c)

Official certification. If the requested copy of a record is to be officially certified:

(1)

The County Executive or the County Executive's designee shall make the certification; and

(2)

The individual requesting certification shall pay in advance an additional fee established by the County Administrative Officer.

(d)

Payable in advance. The County Executive is not required to furnish records requested under this section until the individual making a request under this section pays all applicable fees.
