§ 21-15-101. DEFINITIONS.

  • (a)

    In general. In this title the following words have the meanings indicated.

    (b)

    Administrative authority.

    (1)

    "Administrative authority" means the Director or the Director's designee.

    (2)

    "Administrative authority" is the same as the "authority having jurisdiction" in the Plumbing and Gasfitting Code of Baltimore County.

    (c)

    Board. "Board" means the Plumbing and Gasfitting Board established under Article 3, Title 3, Subtitle 15 of the Code.

    (d)

    Gasfitting.

    (1)

    "Gasfitting" means the installation of nonindustrial gas appliances and the design, fabrication, installation, and testing of nonindustrial piping systems for fuel gases including natural gas, manufactured gas, undiluted liquefied petroleum gases, liquefied petroleum gas-air mixtures, or mixtures of any of these gases, in accordance with the National Fuel Gas Code, the National Fire Protection Association No. 54, as it now exists or it may from time to time be amended.

    (2)

    "Gasfitting" does not mean the installation of gas piping systems and equipment for industrial installations or the design and installation of gas equipment for specific manufacturing, production, processing, and power generating applications in accordance with National Fire Protection Association standards.

    (e)

    Licensee. "Licensee" means a licensed master plumber-gasfitter, master gasfitter, master limited plumber-gasfitter, on-site utility contractor, disposal system contractor, master plumber or journeyman plumber.

    (f)

    Nonindustrial piping systems. "Nonindustrial piping systems" means appliances and gas piping systems extending from the outlet of the meter set assembly or the outlet of the service regulator, when a meter is provided, to the inlet connections of appliances.

    (g)

    On-site. "On-site" means a private water distribution, sanitary sewer, or storm drain system of water mains, valves, fire hydrants, sewer pipes, manholes, catch basins, storm drain pipes, and their appurtenances, owned and maintained by a private interest, to serve two or more buildings within the nonsubdivided interest of the owner, with final connections to a public water, sanitary sewer, or storm drainage system.

    (h)

    Plumbing. "Plumbing" has the meaning stated in the definition set forth in Chapter 1 of the 2009 National Standard Plumbing Code.
