§ 21-11-101. LICENSE REQUIRED; EXCEPTION.
(a)
In general. Except as otherwise provided in this title, a person shall be licensed by the Clerk of the Court before the person may hawk, sell, peddle, vend, or offer for sale at retail, or for rent, any fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, poultry, oysters, goods, wares, or merchandise or service of any kind:
(1)
In or on the streets or highways of the county; or
(2)
By going from house to house, either in a vehicle or on foot, on the streets or highways of the county.
(b)
Exception. This title does not apply to:
(1)
Farmers or growers selling their own vegetables or other perishable farm products; or
(2)
School-age children who are engaged in fund-raising activities.
