Title 3. EMPLOYMENT OF OFF-DUTY UNIFORMED POLICE OFFICERS AND SHERIFF'S DEPUTIES |
§ 19-3-109. MISCELLANEOUS POWER AND DUTIES.
(a)
Powers.
(1)
In addition to any powers set forth elsewhere, the Department may:
(i)
Adopt regulations, in accordance with Article 3, Title 7 of the code, to carry out this title and to promote and further the public interest, the orderly operation of the Police Department, or the safety of the public or the employed officers or deputies;
(ii)
Establish Departmental policies to carry out this title; and
(iii)
Take any legal action to enforce any provision of this title by injunction.
(2)
The office of the sheriff may establish policies for deputy sheriffs concerning uniformed secondary employment.
(b)
Duties. In addition to any duties set forth elsewhere, the Department shall:
(1)
Keep a list of all permit holders; and
(2)
Keep a record of past and current permit holders.
