§ 17-1-105. CHEMICALLY TREATED PAPER.

  • (a)

    "Chemically treated paper" defined.

    (1)

    In this section, "chemically treated paper" means paper that has been treated with celluloid and nitrate or with other substances and chemicals that give the paper high combustibility, high solubility, or quick disposability .

    (2)

    "Chemically treated paper" includes paper commonly known as "flash paper" or "gel paper".

    (b)

    Limitation. This section does not apply to:

    (1)

    A performer, including an actor, actress, and magician, who uses chemically treated paper or possesses chemically treated paper that is intended for use in connection with his or her vocation or avocation; and

    (2)

    A person who supplies chemically treated paper to a performer for a use authorized under this subsection.

    (c)

    Prohibition. A person may not sell, use, or possess chemically treated paper.

    (d)

    Penalty. A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor.
