§ 13-7-310. GARBAGE; MANURE; ANIMAL AND BIRD FEED.

  • (a)

    Dumping prohibited. A person may not place, leave, dump, or allow to accumulate any garbage, rubbish, trash, or manure in an improved or vacant building or premises, or on any open lot or alley so that the garbage, rubbish, trash, or manure may become food for rats or a rat harborage.

    (b)

    Manure.

    (1)

    The provisions of subsection (a) of this section relating to manure do not apply to legitimate agricultural land use unless the use is immediately adjacent to a residential property.

    (2)

    If use of manure is immediately adjacent to a residential property, manure may not be stored within 100 feet of the property line.

    (c)

    Animal and bird feed.

    (1)

    Animal and bird feed that may become a food source for rodents shall be stored in covered rat-proof containers.

    (2)

    A person may not feed animals or birds in a manner that the food constitutes a source of rodent food.
