§ 7-1-501. DEFINITIONS.
(a)
In general. In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.
(b)
Compensation. "Compensation" if lobbying is only a portion of a person's employment, means a prorated amount based on the time devoted to lobbying compared to the time devoted to other employment duties.
(c)
Lobbying. "Lobbying" means:
(1)
Communicating in the presence of a public official of the legislative or executive branch of county government, for the purpose of influencing legislative or executive action; or
(2)
Engaging in activities with the express purpose of soliciting others to communicate with a public official of the legislative or executive branch of the county government for the purpose of influencing legislative or executive action.
(d)
Lobbyist. "Lobbyist" means a person required to register and report expenses related to lobbying under this subtitle.
