§ 4-5-502. DEFINITIONS.

  • (a)

    In general. In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.

    (b)

    Party . "Party" means the:

    (1)

    County administration; or

    (2)

    Exclusive representative for the sworn uniformed classes of merit system employees of:

    (i)

    The Police Department on pay schedule IV of the County Classification and Compensation Plan; or

    (ii)

    The Fire Department on pay schedule V of the County Classification and Compensation Plan.

    (c)

    Portion of a subject area of bargaining. "Portion of a subject area of bargaining" means specific areas within the subject area of bargaining.

    (d)

    Subject area of bargaining.

    (1)

    "Subject area of bargaining" means a subject matter area such as wages, hours, or terms and conditions of employment, overtime, call back, shift differential, leave, grievance procedures, safety procedures, and pension benefits.

    (2)

    "Subject area of bargaining" does not include health benefits.
