§ 4-3-101. POLITICAL ACTIVITY.

(a)

"Political activity" defined. In this section, "political activity" does not include participation in the activities of an employee organization which has been certified as an exclusive representative in accordance with the Employee Relations Act.

(b)

Prohibited.

(1)

An officer or employee of the county may not be prohibited from participating in politics or political campaigns.

(2)

An officer or employee of the county may not:

(i)

Engage in political activity while on the job during working hours; or

(ii)

Be obligated to contribute to an election campaign or political party or to render political service.
