SubTitle 19. COMMISSION FOR WOMEN |
§ 3-3-1902. MEMBERSHIP.
(a)
Composition; appointment of members.
(1)
The Commission for Women consists of 21 voting members.
(2)
Of the 21 voting members:
(i)
The County Executive shall appoint 14 at-large members; and
(ii)
Each County Council member shall appoint 1 resident of the Council member's district.
(3)
The County Executive shall appoint one representative from each of the following county agencies to serve as nonvoting members of the Commission:
(i)
The Department of Health;
(ii)
The Department of Social Services;
(iii)
The Board of Education; and
(iv)
The Human Relations Commission.
(b)
Tenure; vacancies.
(1)
The term of a voting member is 3 years and begins on January 1.
(2)
A nonvoting member serves at the pleasure of the County Executive.
(c)
Removal.
(1)
This subsection does not apply to absences excused by the Commission chairman.
(2)
If a voting member of the Commission is absent from more than three Commission meetings in 1 year, the member's appointment is automatically terminated.
