§ 3-3-1102. MEMBERSHIP.
(a)
Composition; appointment of members.
(1)
The Human Relations Commission consists of 15 members appointed by the County Executive.
(2)
Of the 15 members of the Commission:
(i)
One county resident who may be a resident of the councilmanic district must be appointed on the recommendation of the County Council member representing that district; and
(ii)
Eight members must be county residents appointed without requirements regarding district residence who reflect the ethnic and minority diversity of the county.
(b)
Tenure; vacancies.
(1)
The term of a member of the Commission is 2 years and begins on January 1.
(2)
The terms of members are staggered as required by the terms in effect for members of the Commission on September 2, 2003.
(3)
Vacancies in unexpired terms may be filled by the County Executive.
