§ 35-5-104. ENFORCEMENT.

  • (a)

    In general.

    (1)

    Subject to paragraph (2) of this subsection, the Code Official shall enforce compliance with the requirements of this title in accordance with the procedure set forth in Article 3, Title 6 of the code.

    (2)

    Before issuing a citation under § 3-6-205 of the code, the Code Official shall determine that the violation is injurious to the health, safety, and welfare of county citizens.

    (b)

    Extension of time. The Code Official may extend the time for correcting a violation if:

    (1)

    The property owner applies for an extension and shows good cause for granting the extension; and

    (2)

    The extension will not threaten the health or safety of any occupant of the premises.
