§ 32-3-225. PLANNING BOARD REPORTS.
(a)
Deadline for action by County Council on final report.
(1)
Within 2 years after the County Council has received a final report of the Planning Board concerning amendments to the zoning regulations, the County Council may act on the report by ordinance.
(2)
If the County Council does not act on the report within the 2-year period, the final report of the Planning Board is null and void, and any action on the subject matter of the final report shall require compliance with the provisions of this subtitle regarding amendments to the zoning regulations.
(b)
Further action by County Council.
(1)
Within 2 years after the County Council has acted on a final report of the Planning Board under subsection (a) of this section, the County Council may take further action by ordinance on any issue related to the subject matter of the final report without complying with the provisions of this subtitle regarding a prior recommendation of the Planning Board.
(2)
Before taking an action under paragraph (1) of this subsection, the County Council shall prepare a specific proposal and hold a hearing on the proposal.
