§ 25-2-101. FRANCHISE REQUIRED; GRANT OF FRANCHISE BY COUNCIL.

(a)

Franchise required. A person may not construct or operate a cable system in the county without a franchise granted by the County Council.

(b)

Power of Council to grant. The County Council may:

(1)

Grant a nonexclusive franchise or franchises for the construction and operation of a cable system or systems; and

(2)

Regulate the cable system consistent with the terms of this article and Article 3, Title 9, Subtitle 2 of the Code.
