§ 21-15-302. SAME - TAPPING SEWERS OR DRAIN.
(a)
Required. A person may not tap sewers or drains in public or private streets, alleys, or rights-of-way unless the person first obtains a permit to do so from the Director of public works.
(b)
Applicant requirements.
(1)
When the application is to tap a private sewer or drain, the written permission of the owner of the sewer or drain shall accompany the application.
(2)
The Department of Public Works shall retain the owner's written permission among its records.
(c)
Condition of the permit. The Department of Public Works shall issue all permits to tap public or private sewers or drains on the condition that the permit recipient assumes all risk, damage, injury, or loss resulting from the authorized tapping.
(d)
Supervision. The tapping of all public or private sewers and drains shall be under the supervision of the Director of Public Works or the Director's authorized agent.
