§ 21-12-307. BOND BY OWNER FOR POSSESSION.

  • (a)

    Appraisal ordered. If the owner of the seized minibike desires to obtain possession of the minibike before a petition for forfeiture is filed or before the hearing on the petition for forfeiture, the Clerk of the Circuit court shall have an appraisal made by the Sheriff of the county.

    (b)

    Sheriff's appraisal. The Sheriff may appraise the value of the minibike and return the appraisal, in writing, under oath, to the Clerk of the Circuit court.

    (c)

    Owner may give bond. After the filing of the appraisal, the owner may give bond payable to Baltimore County, Maryland, in an amount equal to the appraised value of the minibike plus court costs which may accrue, with security to be approved by the Clerk, and conditioned for performance on the final judgment of the circuit court after the hearing on the petition.
