§ 20-1-114. RESTRICTIONS ON THE USE OF WATER.

  • (a)

    Upon receipt of a written request from the Water Engineer of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, the Director of Public Works is authorized and empowered to restrict the use of water furnished or supplied by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to any person or property located in the county.

    (b)

    The Director of Public Works may restrict the use of water furnished or supplied by a water supply system owned and operated by Baltimore County to any person or property in order to protect the viability of the system.

    (c)

    The order of the Director of Public Works establishing restrictions on the use of water shall identify the area, person, or property to which it applies and the hours, days, and purposes for which the use of water is prohibited or otherwise restricted.

    (d)

    (1)

    Any person violating any restrictions imposed by the Director of Public Works shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be subject to a fine of not more than one hundred dollars ($100.00) for each violation.

    (2)

    Each day of a violation shall be deemed a separate offense.
