§ 19-1-307. ELIGIBILITY FOR BENEFITS.
(a)
In general. A member is eligible to receive benefit payments from the program when the member reaches 60 years old and has completed a minimum of 25 years of active volunteer service with the team.
(b)
Active service.
(1)
One year of active volunteer service is a year in which the member has fulfilled all of the member's duty hours and training requirements as determined by the administrator of the team and the Chief of Police.
(2)
Duty hours and training time in excess of the minimum are not transferable from year to year.
(c)
Retirement not required. A member is not required to retire to receive the length of service award.
