§ 18-4-102. ENFORCEMENT OF CITATIONS.

  • (a)

    Authorization. In accordance with § 21-809 of the Transportation Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland, the county may use and enforce citations issued from speed monitoring systems within the county.

    (b)

    Conditional enforcement. If the county moves or places a mobile or stationary speed monitoring system to or at a location where the speed monitoring system had not previously been moved or placed, the county may not issue a citation:

    (1)

    Until signage is installed in accordance with § 21-808(b)(1)(vii) of the Transportation Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland; and

    (2)

    For at least the first 30 calendar days after the signage is installed.

    Editor's note:
    Section 2 of Bill No. 61-09 provides that for 30 days after the first speed monitoring system is activated under Article 18, Title 4 of the Baltimore County Code, 2003, a violation recorded by any speed monitoring system may only be enforced by issuance of a warning.
    Section 2 of Bill No. 67-14 provides that Section 2 of Bill 61-09 is hereby repealed and that Sections 3 and 4 of Bill 61-09 are hereby renumbered to be Sections 2 and 3.
