SubTitle 1. IN GENERAL |
§ 18-3-108. MAXIMUM SIZE AND WEIGHT OF MOTOR VEHICLES.
(a)
Authority to adopt regulations. The county may adopt and enforce regulations regarding the maximum size and weight of motor vehicles, trucks, tractors, and trailers that may be operated or used on the county roads.
(b)
Content. The regulations adopted under this section:
(1)
Shall have a relationship to the construction, use, and character of the roads concerned and shall be designed to assure the continued safety and good condition of the roads; and
(2)
May not conflict in any respect with the regulations relating to maximum weights and sizes of vehicles enacted in the public general laws of Maryland.
(c)
Penalty. A person who violates a regulation adopted under this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a fine not exceeding $1,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 60 days.
