§ 18-2-313. PARKING IN SPACES OR ZONES WITH EXPIRED, INOPERABLE OR DEFECTIVE METERS.

  • (a)

    Meter in active operation. If the parking meter is in active operation, a person may not allow a vehicle to park or remain in any parking meter space or a parking meter zone controlled by a multi-space parking meter:

    (1)

    Beyond the period during which vehicles are allowed to remain in the parking meter space or a parking meter zone controlled by a multi-space parking meter;

    (2)

    In any manner except as specified in this subtitle;

    (3)

    Except as otherwise provided in this subtitle, without paying the applicable parking fee; or

    (4)

    Except as otherwise provided in this subtitle, without displaying a multi-space parking meter receipt when and in the manner required by this subtitle.

    (b)

    Inoperable or defective meters. An operator may not park a vehicle in a parking meter space or a parking meter zone controlled by a multi-space parking meter during the regulated time applicable to a parking meter zone if the adjacent parking meter is inoperable or defective or, if applicable, if a receipt cannot be obtained from another multi-space parking meter within the parking meter zone.
