§ 18-2-301. DEFINITIONS.

  • (a)

    In general. In this subtitle the following words have the meanings indicated.

    (b)

    Operator.

    (1)

    "Operator" means an individual who operates a vehicle as the owner of the vehicle, or as the agent, employer, or permittee of the owner.

    (2)

    "Operator" includes an individual who is in actual physical control of a vehicle.

    (c)

    Parking. "Parking" means the standing of a vehicle, whether occupied or not, on a street.

    (d)

    Parking meter. "Parking meter" means a device or meter placed or erected for the regulation of parking.

    (e)

    Parking meter district. "Parking meter district" means a separate and distinct geographical area within which one or more parking meter zones may be located.

    (f)

    Parking meter space. "Parking meter space" means a space within a parking meter zone adjacent to a single-space parking meter.

    (g)

    Parking meter zone. "Parking meter zone" means a street on which the parking of vehicles is regulated by parking meters.

    (h)

    Street. "Street" means a public street, avenue, road, alley, highway, lane, path, or other public place established for the use of vehicles.
