§ 13-9-101. AID TO THE NEEDY GENERALLY.

  • (a)

    " Human services" defined. In this section, "human services" includes information and referral, counseling, protective services for children and adults, family preservation services, child placement services, work incentive programs, and other services and programs that may be considered appropriate by directive of the County Executive or the County Executive's designee or by legislative act of the County Council.

    (b)

    Authority of the county. The county may contribute:

    (1)

    To the maintenance and support of persons who do not have adequate means of support; and

    (2)

    For the purposes of human services, to human service organizations that the county may consider proper.
