§ 13-4-214. DISPOSAL OF ANIMAL CARCASSES.

  • (a)

    Proper disposal. A person who generates animal carcasses during the course of the person's activities shall dispose of the animal carcasses through a rendering plant or another method approved by the approving authority.

    (b)

    Not for solid waste collection. A person may not deposit animal carcasses in containers for removal by solid waste collectors.

    (c)

    Emergencies. In the event of an emergency, the approving authority may allow the use of alternative acceptable methods of disposal of animal carcasses.

    (d)

    Exception for rodents. This section does not prohibit a private resident from depositing within the resident's solid waste storage containers any animal carcass derived from rodent eradication or from the death of a pet animal, subject to the approval of the approving authority and the Department of Public Works.
