Article 13. PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY, AND THE ENVIRONMENT |
Title 1. IN GENERAL |
§ 13-1-102. POWERS AND DUTIES.
(a)
In general. The County Board of Health, the County Health Officer, and the Department have general responsibility for the sanitary interests of the people of the county in accordance with § 539 of the Charter and the applicable provisions of the Health-General Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland.
(b)
Additional enumerated authority. In accordance with § 539(k) of the Charter, the County Board of Health, the County Health Officer, and the Department may adopt:
(1)
Regulations necessary to:
(i)
Preserve the health of the county;
(ii)
Prevent and remove nuisances; and
(iii)
Prevent the introduction and dissemination of contagious diseases within the county; and
(2)
Policies necessary for the enforcement of the authority vested by § 539 of the Charter.
