§ 11-1-106. AUTHORITY TO APPOINT CERTAIN BANKS AS AGENTS.

  • (a)

    Authority of the Director.

    (1)

    The Director may:

    (i)

    Designate or appoint a bank or trust company chartered by the United States of America or the state to act as agents, depositories, or custodians for the Director or the Director's designees:

    1.

    In the collection of state and county taxes, levies, fees, charges; and

    2.

    Other banking services; and

    (ii)

    Adopt rules and enter agreements to carry out the purposes of this section.

    (2)

    Any bank or trust company appointed under this section shall:

    (i)

    Be located in the State of Maryland; and

    (ii)

    Have the required authority under its Charter.

    (b)

    Approval of the County Executive required. All agreements and rules of the Director under this section are subject to the approval of the County Executive or the County Executive's designee.
