§ 10-7-101. "CAPITAL PROJECT" DEFINED.

  • (1)

    In this title "capital project" has the meaning stated in § 702 of the Charter.

    (2)

    "Capital project" includes the acquisition of land for construction of buildings to house firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical services equipment and services incidental thereto and corporate activities of volunteer fire, ambulance and rescue companies, including:

    (i)

    The construction, reconstruction, improvement, enlargement, alteration, and repair of the buildings;

    (ii)

    The acquisition of necessary furnishings, firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical services equipment and fixed, permanent equipment therefor, all for the use and operation by volunteer fire, ambulance and rescue companies; and

    (iii)

    The creation, funding, administration, and operation of a fund for the purpose of lending money to volunteer fire, ambulances, and rescue companies, on the terms and conditions as the county considers appropriate, for use by volunteer fire, ambulance, and rescue companies in financing the acquisition of land, machinery, and equipment, and the construction, reconstruction, rehabilitation, repair, and improvement of buildings and facilities necessary for the operation of volunteer fire, ambulance, and rescue companies and for corporate activities of the companies.
