§ 10-5-104. RETENTIONS; EXCESS COVERAGE.

(a)

Retentions. The Director of Budget and Finance, in consultation with appropriate county agencies and advisers, shall determine the self insurance retentions periodically established by the county based on the county's past and probable future claims experience and the availability and pricing of excess insurance.

(b)

Excess coverage. The county may provide the necessary funds for and the Director of Budget and Finance is responsible for acquiring appropriate excess insurance coverage when, in the Director's judgment, excess insurance is available at a reasonable rate and cost to the county.
